At this moment you have received the August volume of Computerschaak in which Eric van Reem retires as the editor. In his last editorial he, among other things, critizes the board. Unlike from redactions in common and, in our association for more than 30 years always done, he has no adversarial applied. The board was not able to give a reply to this.

The last round can begin. Below the pairing, which gives some strange pairings due to 14 participants in 9 rounds.

News on Larry: He had surgery this morning and this went well. He spoke with Don on the phone a few minutes ago and Larry was in good spirit.

The last round starts with a rolling thunder outside as the weather goes a little bit bad. Harvey just fell of a chair, but the game did not start yet.

Just uploaded the games until round 8 in the download section. Although the pairing seems to be made for a quick round at half past 5 only Junior and RedQueen have finished their game.

Last game of the tournament: The King vs. Rybka. People are joking that Rybka might have the Ktulu bug, not knowing how to mate its opponent. But everything goes well for Rybka, it wins.

The pairing for the round is known and the programs are started already. Only the web team does not have the pairing yet. But it is worked on.

The Baron plays a curious game against Almond. And Almond hangs in a very bad position, The Baron wins.

We're discussing "what is a clone" again. For a tournament organizer it is very difficult to tell how to detect a clone. In our tournament the TD is allowed to ask for the source code if there is doubt. Furthermore what are objective facts to check on cloning. It is very difficult if you do not have insight in the source code. If anybody has good ideas, we are interested.

The last game Komodo vs. Deep Junior is still busy. According to the specialists, it could result in a draw. And it is a draw!
